Counsellors are people who by their sensitive use of basic counselling skills and from the perspective of faith, guide those who have just received Christ to greater understanding of the decision that would have just been made so as to empower them to find a new way of living in Christ.
They are people willing to offer time and to listen to people’s concerns without judgement, but with acceptance, empathy and warmth which are essential qualities. Counsellors also help individuals in difficulties to identify the spiritual source of their problems and assist in finding solutions that will bring empowerment, victory and happiness over life's situations.
This department in Harvest House International Bulawayo, led by Elder Milos Ndlovu, has 138 active counsellors divided into seven teams as the church runs seven services every Sunday. Each service team has a team leader and an assistant who helps with the coordination in the services they man. This ministry is run by the elder and his committee of 12 who are mainly team leader’s but also other people with various portfolios. |
"Our vision is to see Christians rising from the dust and growing to spiritual maturity so that they begin to make good Godly decisions for themselves and begin to take up leadership roles in the church and secular world. We also want to see growth spiritually, numerically and in the quality of counselling- essential for meeting the needs of the large harvest we foresee in the near future."
